In the same period, Baidu Inc's market share by number of search requests edged up 2.1% from the previous quarter to 74.1%, according to the report.
Industry insiders have said that Baidu has an obvious advantage over Google in such areas as R&D, innovation and need to satisfy Chinese web searchers, though Google has been trying to promote traffic by enhancing cooperation with Chinese websites.
Google, which has invested in Tianya Club, a major Chinese social networking site, aims to further integrate its resources in the club, and may set up a joint venture for BBS and Q&A business, according to an earlier report from China Knowledge.
